Neighborhood Garden Projects

In 2013 and 2014 the Idle Hour Neighbors Alliance planted the entrance medians at St. Ann Drive and St. Margaret Drive with native flowers, grasses, trees and shrubs. Two LFUCG Sustainability grants helped finance this work. The plants in the medians provide year-round interest and sustain pollinating insects. Both gardens are also Monarch butterfly waystations. Neighborhood residents maintain the medians and regularly pick up debris to make them look welcoming. If you are interested in helping with our landscape committee’s work, please contact Beate Popkin (beatepopkin@gmail.com).
